Developed by the Dutch breeder, Eduard Korthals, from Dutch gundogs, German pointers, French griffons, and possibly English stock as well, this is an excellent all-purpose worker. Also called the Griffon d’Arrêt Korthals, this versatile breed was fittingly the first all-purpose European gundog to be formally recognized in the United States. Its comparative rarity is a mystery.
